Horn of Plenty in Knoxville

New management and friendly staff. They've cleaned and remodeled and I hear they have big plans for new menu items in addition to the same great food items they've been selling for years! I am a little confused about the mulch part of the business, though.... 😶

I can't say enough good things about Horn of Plenty. It is hands down my favorite place to eat in Knoxville. I have lunch here almost every week. I've tried a ton of different menu items and every single thing has been fantastic. The service is stellar. There is a friendliness about this place that just makes you feel great being there. The prices are just right, the portions are large, and the food is so flippin' good. I don't trust anyone who doesn't love this restaurant.

Horn Of Plenty is a real jewel. The food is good "home cooking", comfort food, with the nicest people waiting on you! Their plants are great finds, to puruse and buy, with a perfect full, satisfied belly. They have some great items to purchase besides the plants, too. It's a great experience to visit Horn of Plenty!!

It was okay. Not bad not real good. The meatloaf had rice in it and the rice was hard, like uncooked rice, all of our food was just lukewarm, everything seemed like just warmed over food, the pulled pork was tough.

Great southern comfort food in a casual setting.

When I need that great country cooking I stop by here! I got a half rack of ribs that were so perfectly cooked I could pull the bones cleanly out of the rack. The Mac and cheese would make a grandma proud.

So this was my first time here, but definitely not the last! I was expecting my chicken and dumplings to be white in color but to my surprise they were brownish. Nevertheless the taste did not disappoint at all. Pinto beans needed a pinch of salt but were cooked just right. Plenty of veggie choices which I love., and they nailed the fried okra.

What a pleasant experience eating here! It was my first time and the gentlemen at the cash register directed me to where and what I was to do to order food. They have so many delicious choices! I decided to go with the four veggie plate and I was very satisfied! I took a pound of pulled pork to go for my husband but did have a little taste and it was yummy! Great spot and so friendly!! I'll be back and will be spreading the word!

Really cool local spot. The food is homemade. Try the smoked meatloaf- it's amazing! They also sell some good local stuff- pimento cheese, candy, snack mixes, great beef jerky and local honey. It's a great little country spot for a casual meal.

Not the greatest experience to say the least.I arrived shortly after opening on a Friday and the kitchen still had not finished setting up the service line. Everyone seemed lost and confused as to what their responsibilities were. So, we got our order to go. Talk about confusion. I also wanted to add an additional piece of fish to my lunch. No chance for that w/o purchasing another complete meal. The veggies were cold and the food overall lacked flavor and seasoning.First and last time. Live and learn and if you’re wise, go to Food City if your looking for a great Friday fish meal because there wasn’t one found at this horn......

A good "meat and three" type place, meat and two actually though. Healthy portions and great daily specials.

I grew up in the country and this place is like home to me. The food is delicious as we had catfish and BBQ chicken entrees. I love the atmosphere here and being able to eat out on the porch. The peach cobbler topped off a great meal and the price is very reasonable. This restaurant is family owned and I think all of them greeted us and made us feel at home. We bought some beautiful mums on the way out as this is also a market. We will be back really soon.

If I could give this place 6 out of 5 stars, I would. Some of the best food in Knoxville, or anywhere for that matter.

I stopped by for the first time. Placed my order and sat for 25 to 30 minutes, never got my food. The place was busy and the setting was rustic. I had to leave with out getting my food.

The brisket is incredible! We really enjoyed the vegetables and the smoked beans. It is true home cooking. The service couldn’t have been better! We enjoyed hearing about the process of cooking the brisket and barbecue. Everyone was very friendly. We felt right at home!

Very good! If you like home cooking you really need to check this place out. You can really tell the food is made fresh daily. Very friendly staff. This was my first visit but I will definitely be coming back for more. This will be one of my regular lunch spots from now on. I had the baked spaghetti and it was good. Feels like one of those places that only locals know about.

Southern comfort food at it's best, including perfect cornbread. A barebones sort of place like a small scale Cracker Barrel without all the merchandise. Much like CB, you will wait but instead of waiting in a line, you can wait at your table where they serve you with a smile. The only drawback is eating with plastic forks, knives, etc.

I've been to HOP many times and I thought that I had reviewed them already, but I had not. So the food is basic country style cooking and it is good. The bbq is very good, possibly the best brisket in Knoxville. The atmosphere and service are ok. The people are friendly, but nearly every time I've been here someone in my party gets their food 15 minutes after everyone else has theirs.

The "don't judge a book by its cover" award goes to Horn of Plenty. When driving by one might think that it is just a farmer's market or a place to get mulch. If you like home cooked meals and savory food you've got to stop in. Horn of Plenty has daily specials and the food is incredible.

Amazing food

One thing to keep in mind is they have daily specials, so be sure to check the standing whiteboard before ordering. Meatloaf, chicken & dumplings, and the ribs are excellent choices.Their tamales with the chili are great.They also offer a variety of jellies, jams, and candies that are excellent.

Food was wonderful and the staff was pleasant.
